Giant Mealworm are the larvae of the tenerbrio molitar beetle. Their diet is vegetarian which means that they are safe to feed to Reptiles and birds without passing on potentially fatal diseases. Giant Mealworms are fattened for many additional weeks using advanced technology.
They consist of 48% crude protein and 40% fat.
They are clean, odourless and relatively inexpensive livefood, rich in protein and easy to store. Giant Mealworms are longer and three times fatter than Regular Mealworms.
Giant Mealworms should be stores in a cool, dark well ventilated space. Prolonged exposure to temperature below 5 C will kill Giant Mealworms but if they are stored at the ideal temperature of 8-10 C in adequate food (Progrub) they can keep for several months
